Las Vegas (KLAS) — A recent analysis identified two cities in the Las Vegas valley among the top 100 safest cities in America for 2023.
According to a study conducted by the finance website WalletHub, Henderson secured the 35th spot out of 182 cities, while North Las Vegas claimed the 66th position. Reno, located to the valley’s far north, just missed the top 100, landing at 106, while Las Vegas itself was ranked 155th.
The study assessed each city in three main categories: home and community safety, natural disaster risk, and financial safety. Henderson excelled in community safety (13th), ranked moderately in natural disaster risk (95th), and scored lower in financial safety (151st). North Las Vegas achieved a notable position in community safety (24th), a moderate standing in natural disaster risk (99th), and a lower rank in financial safety (179th). Las Vegas, on the other hand, landed lower in community safety (150th), had a moderate score in natural disaster risk (96th), and ranked lower in financial safety (170th).
Furthermore, Henderson secured the second position in the list of cities with the fewest traffic fatalities per capita, just behind Oxnard, CA.

WalletHub’s study also highlighted the top 10 safest cities in America, with Nashua, NH, claiming the top spot. The list includes Columbia, MD; South Burlington, VT; Gilbert, AZ; Warwick, RI; Portland, ME; Casper, WY; Yonkers, NY; Burlington, VT; and Scottsdale, AZ.
