KB Home Secures 32 Acres in Summerlin West’s Grand Park District for $44.7M
Los Angeles-based homebuilder KB Home has made a significant move, acquiring 32 acres of land in Summerlin West’s Grand Park District for a whopping $44.7 million, according to Clark County records.
The planned community, named Alton, is set to feature 200 single-family residences. Construction is scheduled to commence in the winter of 2024, with the specific completion date yet to be disclosed. The development will showcase a mix of one- and two-story homes, ranging from 1,817 to 3,063 square feet, offering three to five bedrooms. The location is strategically positioned west of the 215 Beltway and northwest of the Red Rock Resort.
This acquisition follows KB Home’s ongoing presence in Summerlin, where it currently has an active community for sale called Nighthawk. Additionally, a new community named Quail Cove is slated to start selling in January.
Aaron Hirschi, the President of KB Home’s Las Vegas division, expressed the company’s familiarity with the Summerlin market, highlighting the appeal of the area’s amenities, schools, and entertainment options combined with affordable pricing.
Summerlin, recognized as one of the country’s top-selling master-planned communities, traces its origins back to 1952 when Howard Hughes acquired a 25,000-acre parcel for a mere $3 per acre. The recent acquisition is part of Summerlin West’s ongoing development, marking the final two decades of construction for Howard Hughes Holdings, the master-plan developer. Two of Summerlin West’s four villages, The Vistas and The Paseos, have already been built and sold out, while Stonebridge and Reverence are nearing completion.
KB Home’s investment in Summerlin West underscores the continued growth and appeal of this thriving Las Vegas community.
