Following their WNBA Championship victory, the Las Vegas Aces took to the Strip for a celebratory parade, basking in the cheers of devoted fans who have supported them from the very start.
The elation among fans was palpable as the women secured their second consecutive title, narrowly defeating the New York Liberty by a single point in the fourth game of the finals.
Sonya Wright, a thrilled Las Vegas Aces fan, exclaimed, “OMG, I’m feeling amazing. Back-to-back championships in the city, and the women brought it.”
A stark contrast from the previous year, attendees spoke to 8 News Now, noting the improvement from the last parade.
“It’s better than last year, and the crowd is bigger. It’s great to see the support for women’s basketball,” remarked Andre Brown, a passionate Las Vegas Aces fan.
Julie Roman, another fan, marveled at the unity displayed by the community, saying, “It’s different to see a community come together. I feel like you don’t really see this often, and with this amount of people, and this much excitement is awesome.”
The festive atmosphere in and around Toshiba Plaza was adorned with red and black-colored towels, signs, beads, and an abundance of positive energy.
Season ticket holders, Josh and Nikki Schwartz, expressed their longstanding superfan status and the joy of witnessing the women’s well-deserved recognition.
“It makes us proud to bring our daughters,” shared Nikki Schwartz.
“I like the WNBA better than the NBA. I think this is the year that people are starting to realize that these are some legit basketball players,” added Josh Schwartz.
